MAXIMUM ALT-COUNTRY https://labradortunes.bandcamp.com

people like to celebrate when they were at an early show of someone who went on to tour w/ a celebrity, play MSG or whatever but you know what's also cool...being in a small room of people you've gone to shows with for 10+ years who kept making & caring about art despite the odds being so against it

Had these neighbors who were a young couple that would fight constantly. We could hear them through our wall. She would always yell at him and leave the apartment in a huff. He would then blast “miserable” by Lit. Then during the lockdown, he bought a bass and learned it and would play along.

Sometimes (most of the time) I’m more psyched about my friend’s bands doing well than my own. They’re all too good to be denied. So listen to them and then go listen to Labrador, if you must.

I’ve said it before, but it’s amazing that you can typically find every great record by Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and Grand Parker on vinyl for under $15 at any record store across the country.

Dolly will leave a whirlpool in the middle of this country. Such an unreplicable force of purity and charity. An artist and pillar for the humble and a connection between two worlds: the dirt road and the rhinestone.
