I’m grateful to be able to talk to you unlike anyone else in my life. I’m grateful for the sunrise over the horizon and the dusk of the darkness. I’m grateful and for all things in between. You teach us every day about light and dark, good and bad, love and grief, good and evil, and despair and hope. I’m grateful that each day brings something new to our hearts and minds that you allow me to experience. I’m grateful that the day brings a new gratefulness and understanding that grows in my heart like flowers in the garden, snow that blankets the winter, trees whose leaves fall in color, and the heat that quickly burns my consciousness. I’m grateful for ordered and concrete steps. Steps you allow me to take. Steps that are taken in grace, mercy, and unmerited favor. I’m grateful that I can ask for forgiveness for my misgivings and wrongdoings. I do what I can because I can even if I’m not allowed to. It doesn’t make it right in your eyes. Fix it Lord.’ I’m grateful to talk to you openly, honestly, and for real. I can say what’s on my mind without judgment. I’m grateful for my family, friends, work, and for the world around me, both positive and negative. I’m grateful that I can walk alone and know that you are with me even when no one else is. I’m grateful that life is a beautiful journey, a learning process to prepare us for what lies ahead. I’m grateful for this very moment that exists as I write this to you. I’m grateful that I take nothing for granted, and that I leave everything in your hands. And I pray for a more peaceful world. And for everything to be grateful for. In Jesus’ name. The reality of this post really sits with me, as Divina struggles with Schizophrenia. I’m lucky she doesn’t know what Gemini is yet. I find there is enough pressure to keep her in this realm.

Always be grateful for love, And to all the people that you have loved over the years, The ones who have comforted you, And have tamed your endless fears. Always be grateful for love, From all your family and your friends, The ones who have picked you up when you’re down, For the ones who helped you live, and breathe again. Always be grateful for love, And cherish the ones who are gone forever, The ones who are always in your heart, And the ones you will always treasure. Always be grateful for love, For the sunshine and the rain, For storms that produce the most growth in life, And for the ones that kept you sane. Always be grateful for love, Which is the greatest emotional trip ever, On a vast journey, so independent, Having loved, so you can’t say you’ve never. Always be grateful for love, In that you had real love every single day, Because times will suddenly change, And things won’t always be that way.
