My advice for folks in tech who want to stay in tech: If you’re at a company who won’t let you work with and experiment with AI tools and workflows… get out. Even if it’s a pay cut, get out. How we work is changing. Find a place that will help you navigate this change.

I’ve been working on a CLI at work. Figma is terrible for designing a CLI and trying to work on flows and styles within a dev environment isn’t great either… so I started vibe coding a CLI design tool. It feels magical to build niche tools and utilities!

We all have our own paths to walk, but if you’re a designer unwilling to invest in new skills and technology, here is my advice: Research graphic design’s transition to computers in the 80’s. Or prints transition to digital being prominent. These shifts leave folks behind.

Sometimes AI just shows up. My 3 year old son’s current obsessions include cherry picker trucks and ballerinas. So I prompted ChatGPT to generate a coloring sheet. He’s going to flip when he sees it.

I read a ton of fantasy. I decided to give writing it a go over my vacation. Who knows where this will go? A short story, a book, a forgotten file on my Drive… No matter what it’s been a fun practice. Here’s the start of something I’m working on.
