Career dedicated to animals, justice, ethical values do matter.

Animal ag uses ~200× more freshwater than AI. AI data centres are projected to use ~1 trillion litres/yr by 2028. Animal ag already consumes 228 trillion litres of blue water/yr. Not defending AI, but this context isn't well known. I also wonder how much AI water goes to military vs. general use.

Important letter in @theguardian.com from @profpaulbehrens.bsky.social "This is not alarmism. As the @thecccuk.bsky.social report shows, our high-grade farmland in England & Wales could collapse from 40% to just over 10% by 2050, striking at our ability to feed ourselves."

I nearly fell off my chair when I found out that Gibraltar HAS NEVER HAD A SEWAGE PLANT and therefore ALL ITS RAW, UNTREATED SEWAGE (from a mere 40,000 people and their businesses) is dumped straight into the MEDITERRANEAN Sea. Great work, guys. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...

7. Well, the rest of us should remember that we are paying for this, and we should decide how our money is spent. No taxation without representation – and that should apply in the countryside as much as the town. Thank you.

6. What it says is “this is our territory, culturally as well as geographically, and we’ll keep it looking the way we want, which is one big sheep pasture, regardless of what those blethering eco-nuts with their binoculars and anoraks say. We dominate here, and the rest of you can eff off.”

5. So what’s really going on? The value of any grazing created is minimal – arguably negative, as sheep-farming here is loss-making and survives only through subsidies. I believe the real reason it continues is the same reason the far right attaches flags to lamp-posts. It’s a territorial marker.

Brilliant result from our legal challenge about overgrazing on Dartmoor ⚖️ Now the Dartmoor Commoners' Council must fulfil its statutory duty & urgently make appropriate assessments of stocking densities & reduce the number of sheep where overgrazing is apparent. wildjustice.org.uk/dartmoor/wil...

It is abhorrent how the English rural way of life is decimating wildlife everywhere, with total impunity. Yorkshire seems to be a hotspot of vicious crimes against raptors. To me, everything from Yorkshire is tainted.

Remember the US military budget is mostly funded by debt partly held and funded by European countries. Time to reverse. The finance oligarchs know what's at stake and will put a stop to this madness. Otherwise, it's crash of the US bond market and of Wall Street as a whole. bsky.app/profile/grac...

Europe, flood the bond market with US treasuries!!! Big money oligarchs will see the crisis coming and stop the senile crackpot in his tracks!!! We know it works! Carney did it and Trump paused tariffs on 9th of April!

And here it is. Starmer's post-press-conference statement manages to be even more cowardly than his initial response. Vague call for international law to be respected. Ignores that it has *already been violated* this morning. No mention of US.

Spain's PM Pedro Sanchez is 1st European leader to make a stronger statement following Trump's press conference where he said the US will run Venezuela and take its oil. Sanchez has been ostracised by other 🇪🇺 leaders for his past criticism of Trump. Will they listen to him now?
