This particular LRT is why I'm so harsh on myself, especially lately, when I make mistakes. I've had too many scenarios that have mentally scarred me where I've fucked up almost unintentionally and it's held against me for the longest time, and I worry it'll keep happening time and again.
Sin that must be eternally punished is a culturally Christian idea that you can and should reject. If someone admits wrongdoing and changes their behavior, that's the desired outcome. You don't continue to punish because you then signal there's no point to contrition at all, you're damned either way
