to have a belief in sweetness or gentleness is not the same thing as to willingly wish away any bad or uncomfortable feeling...in fact i think, like david lynch's oeuvre, a tender love of simple beauty & fascination with the darkness underneath often go hand-in-hand
listen i know my comics are mg & ya, but i hate the word wholesome & i never want any part of it. it reminds me of why the graham cracker was invented or about john harvey kellogg. i wrote TASTY to talk about white christian american sanitizing food culture; i am deeply suspicious of wholesomeness
