Collections Development Week, Day 3: we've been looking at the papers of economist Robin Murray, who was known for his pioneering work in cooperative economics and social innovation. The papers cover his work with Twin Trading, and involvement with the ethical brands Divine Chocolate and CafeDirect

I was absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to sit down with Hannah Priest to discuss her research. Whilst we focused on the archival sources she used, the book also goes into museum ethics and so much more!

It's great to finally be able to show off the work of our 2025 Archives Insight Week placement students. They were brilliant to work with. Huge thanks to our conservator Catherine for all her hard work on the installation too!

If you're in the Burton Library @uoylibrary.bsky.social, don't miss our new student-curated archives exhibition! The cases include copies of items from the Rowntree & Co archive curated by our Archives Insight Week students back in June. We had so much fun working with them on this project!

Two glass-topped display cases next to a white wall in a carpeted corridor. The cases contain a variety of black and white images and documents.

I love supporting our Undergraduate Open Days. Over the last two days we've spoken to nearly 400 people! So much fun to do and lovely to meet everyone. I might be away for a lie down now though! 😂

We're back at University of York Open Days with an archives display in our searchroom @uoylibrary.bsky.social! Pop in and see us on the first floor of the Burton Library to find out more about our amazing collections and how we support teaching and learning. We'll be here between 10am and 3pm!

Two large tables in a room, with a bookcase on the back wall. On the tables are a number of books and flat historic documents.

I had so much fun supporting @gbrannanarchive.bsky.social with this event on Wednesday morning! Looking forward to choosing some of this material for our Undergraduate Open Day display next weekend, too!

#ICYMI An interview with our very own @gbrannanarchive.bsky.social featured on BBC Breakfast this morning, following a visit by the cast of The Last Laugh to see our Eric Morecambe archives on Wednesday. Thanks to Tom Ingall from BBC Look North for the report! 1/2

Three men in black and suits and white shirts stand around looking at a document one is holding up. The men on the left and right have bow ties, whilst the man in the middle has no tie. The man on the right is wearing a red fez on his head. Behind the three men two more men can just about be seen - one between the men on the left and the middle is holding a camera with a light, whilst between the man in the middle and the man on the right an arm can be seen holding a sound boom.
