The unforgettable cover was created by Klaus Voormann, who combined line drawings with photographic images of the band.
Beef was, by far, the largest driver, accounting for 41% of the total. The second-largest was oilseeds, dominated by soy and palm oil. The other large drivers were forest plantations and cereal production.
The largest cause of deforestation is, and has been, the expansion of farmland. But the production of which products, in particular, has been driving this in recent decades? A recent study, published in Nature Food by Chandrakant Singh and Martin Persson, answered this question.

This would close off the path outside Iranian waters the US encouraged ships to use during the MOU, then started bombing again to keep open.

OECD power generation from gas has seen a significant drop in the five months since LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz were first disrupted. This has not resulted in an increase in coal-fired generation as solar and wind have covered demand growth and the fall in gas.
