P6 had a fantastic experience up at Graeme High School for their transition days. They took part in a series of lessons over the two days and thoroughly enjoyed their taster classes ☺️👏🏻⭐️
Using different materials, we practised some new mathematical strategies. We really enjoyed playing these new games and testing our knowledge ☺️
On the last day of term, we enjoyed some sweet treats from Mrs Coyle and watched our Titanic News Reports! We had a great last day and it was such a nice way to wrap up our topic 😄
Last week we were lucky enough to welcome in Laurieston Bowling Club. They showed us set up, positioning and how to play different games. We really enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to attend some more sessions at the club soon 😊👏🏻
During Art today, we used different materials to transfer a pencil line drawing onto a piece of card. We had to carefully follow several steps to be successful and we all achieved a fantastic outcome. We celebrated each others success and will add some addition information tomorrow 🎨🚢
Today we engaged in a ‘Spark imaginations in the classroom’ Puffin Virtual Visits lesson. Today we met author Rebecca Orwin who introduced us to her new book. We then mapped our our own imaginary character and discussed our ideas with one another 👹🧌🐉
Today in Numeracy we started our new Thematic maths topic and tested out a new way of working. We all had a non permanent vertical surface to work at and had to work as a small group to work out calculations, check answers and find any mistakes. We then fed back to Mrs Coyle as to how we found it.
Today in spelling we had to put communication first to complete our spelling tasks. First we had to work as a team to build a Spring spelling bank. Next we needed to peer assess our words and finally we created a singular and plural spelling table using the Pages app. Great team work!!!
Today in Literacy, we complete a trio of lessons. We started off discussing word types in Grammar, next we applied our knowledge to a piece of text during Listening and Talking and finally we edited our work during Spelling 🖌️📚⭐️
Today during Health and Well-being, we were developing our knowledge of consent. We engaged in some role play activities, discussed different scenarios and then transferred our learning into an art piece ☺️
This morning we engaged in a live lesson with author @sharnajackson.com 📚. We loved her interest in gaming, street art and murder mystery stories. We couldn’t believe she liked the game Among Us! It was fascinating to hear the different ways to plan a piece of writing ✍️
Today was a very rare occasion we were all in, so we had to take a wee memory picture 😊📸
Today we were in the hot seat taking on workers from the Titanic. We could ask yes or no questions to work out what job role we each had. Ahead of this, we had researched different job roles and found out information including wages, tasks and colleague numbers.

There was so much excitement yesterday when we tested out our boats during STEM with Miss Wood. The aim was to get as many stationery items on our boats for the longest time without it sinking ⛵️🛟

We explored different habitats during Outdoor Learning, researching what that particular environment is like and who lives there. We then presented our findings to the rest of the class.
We really enjoyed multi sports with Miss Wood on Friday! We like getting to try lots of different sports during one PE lesson 🏀⚽️🏉
Today we continued our Narrative writing focus. The theme today was landing on a new planet and we linked all our senses to our writing to produce some fantastic pieces 👽🚀☄️🪐
Today in Drama we performed different Scots poems. We demonstrated fantastic group work and creativity as we had to think up all the actions with only direction from our group 🎭🏴
Consolidating our learning by thinking about examples of fractions, decimals and percentages in every day life 😁
Today we continued exploring the genre of narrative writing ✍️ First we had to analyse a short clip and separate it into Orientation, Complication and Resolution. We edited our work as we went ⭐️ Next we were given different images and had to discuss potential complications which may occur 👏🏻
Today we started our new topic of the Titanic. We completed a carousel task and noted down any questions we had about the pictures. We engaged in relevant discussion and really enjoyed the lesson 😊
