VOLITION - These guys are compromised. She's got them singing along to her tune. The little bleeps and bloops you trust for info -- you can't trust them anymore.

That's it. The Greens are fucked. I was right the first time a year ago, Polanski is going to run the party into the ground at the exact time when we needed a left-wing alternative to Labour the most.
Incorrect, Zack. In-fucking-correct.
Working on some presentations for school that need visual flair so here’s the closest one can get to an archives ‘action shot’
If Tucker runs then the Democrats will win 2028. It's pretty straightforward spoiler effect, and what I love is that Kent, Massie, MTG etc. probably know this already and they're going to tank the GOP out of spite. Far be it from me or anyone else to stop them lmao.
Joe Kent says that he and other anti-Donald Trump MAGA figures have formed a new movement. They want Tucker Carlson to run for the presidency in 2028. www.wired.com/story/maga-i...
The Odyssey (2026, Dir. Christopher Nolan)
If Michigan goes the way I think it's going then it's pretty clear that Haley Stevens probably could've won if she didn't crash out towards the end of the campaign. If the corpo/neolib wing Democrats desperately wanted to beat the left they really screwed up badly by picking Stevens.
BBC: 'what have the BBC ever done for me?" Also the BBC: "do the proles really need water all that much?"
Apparently you can be one of the biggest supporters of Palestine in the USA and successfully defeat AIPAC but that's not enough for chronically online ultraleftists.
Or, as we were calling it years ago when Reform weren't relevant: the Tory far-right. This was the kind of conservatism that took over the Tory party when Boris came to power. He gutted the party of any kind of liberal-moderate voices and left Rishi at the mercy of the reactionaries who remained.
Badenoch represents double-down conservatism. Never apologise or moderate. Insult your opponents. Patronise journalists when challenged. Contradict yourself, lie, whatever it takes, but never back down. And that's how you end up creating an extremely avoidable Tory antisemitism scandal overnight
I have the sneaking suspicion that the Stevens supporters will spend the next three months angrily ranting about how they refuse to vote blue no matter who now that the nominee is a Muslim and a leftist. Expect a gruelling GE campaign in which Steven's supporters will try to sink their own party.

Reminder that the Tories believe any non-British person who commits more than a minor parking or traffic offence should be automatically deported. They “believe in second chances”, apparently, but only for literal Nazis.

This is what they expected and wanted to happen: that members of the public, shown the cops would take their side if they kicked off and went mental at anyone they suspected of being a transgender, would then start going apeshit en masse and enforce their wacko ideas for them.
Look at my leftists dawg we are never getting socialism
Ok so like how does a highly literate classicist fail at media literacy to the point where she missed the scenes where Odysseus very clearly calls himself a monster? She's right about fidelity to text but wtf no the film isn't "deceptive" at all. It loudly tells you that Odysseus was a war criminal.
This passage makes me want to just log off and throw my phone in the river. The discourse on this has officially reached its end
“‘You have to be an illusionist,’ he argued, ‘and not a photographer.’” Hell yeah, Ray. Hell yeah.
Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion skeletons in Jason and the Argonauts are amazing even now. He animated the sequence by himself for more than four months -- without computers or even an easy way to check his work. We're looking into how he did it: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/how-ray-ha...
jfc the Reddit stories are true, there really are guys who don't wipe their own ass and they're advising the White House
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
Bluesky is already a home for a variety of people that are sick of Twitter. Literally anyone can sign up. The people who complain about muh bubble are mad that not all of us want to talk to them and aren't forced to see them because (a) no algorithm and (b) the block button that actually works.
If you want Bluesky to take down Twitter, you should want Bluesky to become home for a wider variety of content. That doesn't mean they should allow Nazis on here, of course. But keeping this a safe echo chamber is way less valuable than breaking the hold of the Zuccs and Elons of the world.

I love how there's a character who thinks cats are forming their own intelligence agency and it's clear he's just afraid of cats.
If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"
