Savaged Regime

Pretty satisfied with these parallax clouds I got working in zDoom. Also amazed at how well .png optimizes itself. Both layers are 1024x256 resolution which seems like a lot, but they're only 11 & 22 kb respectively. Probably because I chose to make them use 8 colors only for aesthetic purposes.

Still working on a texture tileset fusing Doom and Quake textures together into a single cohesive theme. Settled on a primarily gray color scheme to set it apart from Quake's brown with chartreuse accents coming from the tech elements. Ironically it's starting to look more like Quake 2.

My hyperfixation recently has been taking Doom textures and redoing them in a Quake style for my little mod project. Really getting into the dregs of the stylistic differences between them and learning a lot on how to work with low res pixel art-adjacent texture styles.

Building some Aria of Sorrow setpieces (not for gameplay) using Doom Builder. Translating sidescrolling 2D spaces into 3D is always an interesting creative challenge. Have to embellish a lot with the floors and ceilings here and make new assets to fill in the gaps.

Was curious how those asynchronously looping lifts were done in Doom's E2M2 so I looked at the map file and found it rather amusing. Since they didn't have any scripting, the "RNG" effect was achieved by 2 separate repeating move/stop triggers when you move in and out of the lines for a light beam

Haven't done any Doom mapping for about a decade yet it's incredible how fast it is to get started with Doom Builder. It's very cathartic to just screw around and make stuff without any real plan or end goal. Now I just need to learn how to import my own custom textures.

This scifi show by some X-Files cowriters did not last nearly as long as I remembered. I recall watching the final episode and just laughing at how the whole thing played out, probably because it was abruptly cancelled. Looks like the whole series is up on Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HLe...

Name a tv show you’re positive no one remembers but you …ok let’s try this one.

I swear Google image search results have been precision-engineered so that whenever you search for a particular animated gif, the first results are going to be some completely botched version with slideshow framerates or awkward editing that inexplicably cuts off at odd points. It has to be sabotage

I know there's been significant controversy surrounding Audacity, so as an alternative to that I would recommend www.wavosaur.com which has been my goto for simple audio editing. Lightweight with no fuss and best of all it doesn't make you jump through hoops with exports when you want to save a file

Wavosaur free audio editor with VST and ASIO support

WAVOSAUR is a free audio editor for Windows with VST plugins support. The program is ASIO compatible, can do loop points edition, auto-trim, noise removal

Was just going to use this as a rough sketchbook for a FM arrangement but now I kinda wanna flesh it out to a full 70s funk production. Just frustrated I don't have any horn samples that feel up to the task

It's funny how unhinged the millennial-pandering has gotten in the games industry at this point after the 00s and 10s period felt like the opposite in my experience. Guess it's a sign of the industry having effectively priced out younger people and market research now coming to that realization
