POLITICAL RETRIBUTION Federal agents raided Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s DC home this morning. A sitting member of Congress who has repeatedly been targeted by Trump, now facing a federal investigation over immigration paperwork her father completed when she was a child. A CHILD.

Under-radar stakes: Supreme Court elections. Justices who’ve upheld restrictions on abortion are up next month in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Texas. Justices who have sided with abortion access are up in Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Wyoming.

He’s so damn good at this. Jon Ossoff came out swinging against Mike Collins in the Georgia Senate debate. “It’s not just that you’ve hired half the Third Reich to staff your congressional office … It’s that you’re robbing your constituents to subsidize your donors.” 🔥

So far in Trump’s second term, ICE has arrested more than 8,500 children. Many of those children have been detained in locations where lawyers and family members couldn’t find them. This article was published in partnership with @us.theguardian.com www.themarshallproject.org/2026/10/08/i...

For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has kept abortion out of reach for millions, esp. people of color working to make ends meet. This week, Lupe Rodriguez at the National Latina Institute for RJ talks with us about Hyde’s tragic, dangerous legacy, and how it is past time for repeal. #EndHyde

Scrapbook style graphic with the US Capitol in the lower right hand corner and a broken pink piggy bank along the top. The graphic has the title of this episode of the podcast: 50 years of Hyde, 50 years of harm.

This is amazing if infuriating documentation by @propublica.org. Kudos to them for stating without equivocation that DHS/ICE/CBP has lied-and continues to lie-to citizens and immigrants alike. Would that every U.S. news outlet had this kind of courage and clarity.

A year ago, @propublica.org told you immigration agents had detained more than 170 U.S. citizens. We’ve updated our count, and we’ve got all the receipts. The tally: At least 506 citizens detained. Sometimes held at gunpoint, handcuffed, or even deported. projects.propublica.org/american-cit...

I will never forgive or forget a single Republican Senator who voted yes on RFK Jr.’s confirmation as HHS Secretary. But as you know I hold especial contempt for Bill Cassidy (R, Invertebrate) for greasing the skids for RFK Jr. and for the destruction of U.S. public health.

The administration is threatening access to historical and irreplaceable records, including closing down one facility in California that is home to countless photos and family heirlooms. Congress must exercise its oversight power to save decades of regional and national history.

I joined @duckworth.senate.gov, @padilla.senate.gov, & @schiff.senate.gov to introduce the National Archives Protection Act, a new bill that would ensure archival records, and the history they preserve, remain an accessible resource.

New Baby Boom! Lawyered: In a SCOTUS filing this week, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas likened the mailing of abortion pills to mailing anthrax or mail bombs. (Only one of those has FDA approval.) The ban states are challenging New York, California, and Massachusetts' telehealth shield laws.
