brain rot - but the good, permaculture-y kind. Soft moss, lichen and mycoremediation (mushroom emoji) taking hold of a decomposing society might mean a better future. Mpls for 33 years, NE MN for now bsky platform skeptic. 🐘 https://leanside.org/@kjell

A group of bikers rolling down the Midtown Greenway in the early days of summer. IMO it’s impossible to overstate how important the greenway is to Minneapolis, we’re so lucky to have it. June 2026

This illustrates why I'll never respect my state's hegemonic newspaper. Let's all keep yelling at jacub fray and amy K… But don't forget that they're just clowns and it's our media running the circus. One of the ringleaders is this paper's owner, an oligarch and former republican state senator

On Monday, June 1, 2026, the Minnesota Star Tribune introduced Jim Schultz—who vowed to “go on offense” against abortion rights as prospective AG and who may or may not be considering a future run for office—as their newest contributing columnist

I'm on this train. Park your vehicle in the bike lane? You're taking the bus for 6 months, bozo. The problem is the US doesn't have a workable society without car addiction. If Jane Shmane from Godfuck Virginia loses the ability to drive it leads to lost work/income and the poor kids have to starve

I have an even hotter one, which is that it should be more common for people to get their licenses straight up taken away from them. In edge cases, people who want the license back can retake driver's ed in a year or so.

This definitely shouldn't be a golf course, but it is a generational opportunity to make "golf course to public sex forest" happen. We all know the U's gonna hand it over to Ryan & Co for chump change and rehash the ford plant debacle

Instead of signing a petition, these aggrieved golfers should fundraise $60 million dollars, and then whatever endowment would be required to subsidize it for years. www.startribune.com/umn-bolstad-...

this is what I daydream about. Plus bike/walking paths. State and county highways also trade existing unsafe ROW for modes higher up the mobility pyramid, separated pedestrian paths, renewable energy, and green/blue infrastructure. De-congestion fees on remaining vehicle miles pay for infra upgrades

I’ll add my questionable idea for implementing a nationwide high speed rail system is that we should just cut every interstate in half and use that existing right of way for trains. It’s already there and it already cuts through cities, let’s use it for something better.
