Johannah approaches her writing with a depth of thought that amazes me. She grasps complicated topics in a way not many can, and then explains them in a way that doesn't leave anyone behind. I would walk through fire to work with Johannah again. For the love of god someone hire her immediately.

Moving forward -- Heresy was a dream to work on. The character tensions were exquisite, and we got to work with Oryx, to bring that voice forward from Destiny history. The privilege is truly unmatched. And, yes, I worked on Heresy's final mission: I had the honor to write Oryx's final monologue.

I've always wanted to do one of these threads talking about some of the stuff I worked on at Bungie! Before I start: none of my work is done in a vacuum. We are a team, with multiple NDs, editors, activity designers, world artists, VAs, audio, lighting, composers, QA, and more.

Hello world! I'm bringing a professional account forward out of fandom lurking. I'm Johannah, I've been a narrative designer on Destiny 2 since 2022 and contributed to releases since then. :) Like many of my beloved colleagues I am now on the market. Watch this space question mark?

Well folks, the hand of the market got me: I've been impacted by layoffs at Bungie. It's been an incredible, astonishing pleasure working on Destiny 2 and a small part of Marathon with so many wonderful, talented folks. This was my first AAA job, at a studio whose games I'd played since childhood.

Well, I've been affected by the Bungie layoffs, and I guess I'm now looking for work. I'm a senior narrative designer on Destiny 2. I'm going to thread a little list of stuff I've done on the game; normally I go out of my way to avoid attention, but today I'd appreciate reposts.

I watched History of the Occult tonight without really knowing anything about it going in and thought it was great. Actually quite scary and well done. Itโ€™s a little funny watching a movie really succeed at what Late Night With the Devil was trying to do.

Beautiful 1860s Victorian butterfly, which was used to store small packets of sewing needles on the underside of the wings. This was a collaboration between a London-based drapers company and a sewing needle manufacturer. On exhibit at Tatter Blue, a Brooklyn textile museum. IG tatterbluelibrary

Small brass butterfly. The underside of the butterfly, which has little pockets to store sewing needle packets. The underside of the wings are decorated with two plates. One carries an inscription of the drapers company: "Copestake, Moore, Crampton & Co. - London." The other has a gilded head of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, art, trade, and war.The butterfly can be folded up, like how a butterfly flaps its wings. A close-up of the butterfly's wings.

As some of you already know, my little brother has a rare cancer. Less than 200 people are recorded having it since the 70's. In just a month, it's progressed to stage 3. He's only 20. It's been SO hard. If my game dev advice was ever useful to you, please consider: www.mealtrain.com/trains/y5z8yy

Today is Microsoft's Xbox Showcase and I really think not tuning in is both the right call and the literal least you can do to show Microsoft and Xbox that you are NOT OKAY with them aiding Israel with an ongoing Genocide.

In case people still aren't aware: There is sanctioned boycott on Microsoft and Xbox from the BDS movement going on *right now*.
