Well since forest fire season seems to be getting fully in to swing in...*glances at calendar*...mid-July...this seems like a good time to remind folks to go buy a HEPA filter now. August gone be ugly and we don't even want to know about September.

Magical days. We did crunch a lot, but the point still stands. Part of the answer to how we did a cinematic heavy series that quickly/cheaply was the department I was in, Cinematic Design. Leadership called us “BioWare’s secret weapon” more than a few times.

Bioware did 3 Mass Effects from scratch, starting from pre-production in 2004 and ending in 2012. With inferior tools, on inferior hardware, with limited knowledge. They made the first one in 3 years. They did all 3 story heavy cinematic RPGs in 8 years. Like, what are we doing here?

This has stopped getting much traction when I share it (understandable, everyone is unemployed and fatigued), but things are really tight for us right now and I would appreciate any extra visibility I can get. Available for all kinds of supplemental freelance and contract work.

1/3 of the game industry has lost their job in the last two years. Ubisoft closed two more studios today. Everyone is out of work. To that end I'm starting a new bundle to benefit a layoffs hardship fund. Game devs: please consider submitting your PAID games to the bundle, which will launch in July.
