There are kind people to love, help, and cherish, and we shouldn't waste a single moment doing so. There will always be those who abuse power, and even after one tyrant falls, new injustices emerge. That's the world we live in. What matters is how we choose to live within it. 4/

The fire danced in her eyes. The flames swam, flared up, sank away, brightened again against the sooty stone, against the dark sky, against the pale sky, the gulfs of evening, the depths of air and light beyond the world.

Always returning: light, peace serenity— always within reach. Beneath whelming noise & clamorous angers the dissatisfied, harmed, haunted, desperately greedy silence waits. The simple hands of kindness. The quiet heart of love. Stand up. Walk out to the world's soft edges. Listen. #poem 1/2

I saw an extraordinary thing yesterday. The sun was slowly setting into the hills to the west and we were by Ponte Santa Trinita. There's a line of clear glass lanterns along the edge of the river there as it goes west, and the angle of the red rays of the sun was lighting them up like stained glass
