Past events exist, after all, only in memory, which is a form of imagination. The event is real now, but once it’s then, its continuing reality is entirely up to us, dependent on our energy and honesty.

I saw an extraordinary thing yesterday. The sun was slowly setting into the hills to the west and we were by Ponte Santa Trinita. There's a line of clear glass lanterns along the edge of the river there as it goes west, and the angle of the red rays of the sun was lighting them up like stained glass
