The problem sadly runs deeper than just energy production and fuel. About 25% of todays oil consumption is needed in manufacturing of petrochemicals, lubricants and asphalt. Even if we switch over to exclude oil from production, capitalism will find a way to fight over rare earths. It is built-in.

At this pace we'll have a global bot uprising before we have a proletarian one. /s
