Looking sharp #Photography #UrbanGaze

A barber shop called 'Crown Cuts Hair Salon'. It has a 'reddy/brown' theme; the door, window frame, lettering, and strip of tiles are the same colour. White tiles surround all this, with glossy brown ones at the bottom. It is squeezed into a Victorian building, with a large black door and 3 brick columns fighting for space. An ornate stone lintel crowns it above.

One of my favourite of Laurent Chéhère’s Flying Houses.

The current spate of wildfires across the country and the tinder-dry state of Dartmoor has made me reflect on some of the incidents I attended. No exaggeration to say that some wildfires were amongst the most physically draining and dangerous jobs I turned out to in the 7 years I was on the run...
