I can kind of get why people have the prior that the Dem establishment might not line up behind El Sayed after Mamdani, but that is kind of evidence of poor analysis; deep blue state politics and state/municipal level politics are a different game altogether that a federal race.

The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

Are people aware that our presidential primary in Michigan was separate from the general party primary? Like you had to actively want to vote for or against the incumbent, it was a bit of a pain in the ass compared to normal voting by mail, and it wasn't like people were showing up for down ballots.

I voted uncommitted and if I hadn't done that I'd have simply not voted lmao, there wasn't any chance of Biden not actually winning the nomination I also donated to his campaign, this whole narrative is fucking absurd

This is a significant thing on this website, but I'll note that almost everyone who I've seen trying to peddle this shit (and who is obviously a human being) is outside of the state. It's gross and I'm going to hold it against people on here but its also just not significant in the race.

What's crazy is how many people are telling on themselves that VBNMW is actually bullshit for them before even knowing whether they even need to make that call.

He just won so I'm going to try to keep my advice on how he should campaign to a minimum cause wtf do I know I worry about Piker and Oakland County. Still he should drop this bro hug even if he doesn't actively disavow the guy (morally he should absolutely disavow the guy).

As a centrist/establishment Dem, vote blue no matter who. I supported Stevens in Michigan, and if I lived there I would vote for AES in November without hesitation.

"A huge moment in our country." Former Michigan Congressmember Andy Levin, who lost to Haley Stevens in a 2022 House race that included a flood of AIPAC spending against him, responds to Tuesday's Democratic primary results in the state.
