There's not a linear relationship between medical symptom severity & experience of psychological distress. A person can be very ill but psychologically OK; someone else can have a less severe medical situation & be very distressed by it. This is something to understand, not to judge.

If the past is a mystery, the future is uncertain and the present is bewildering, how do we make sense of it all? I think it begins with a sincere and unrelenting search for truth. Keep your curiosity. Speak your mind freely and plainly and listen to others.

It's so easy to get drawn into thinking everything's shit & nobody cares, but there's actually loads of examples of decent, kind, caring people when you look for it.

The 150-minute weekly exercise target for adults in the UK is not an absolute threshold. Smaller amounts of exercise will still have important health benefits. If you can’t meet the 150-minute target don’t be discouraged. Aim to build some regular exercise into your daily routine.

Person centred care starts with understanding what matters most to patients, service users, families and carers. We welcome the #NHS Quality Strategy's recognition of patient experience as a core aspect of high quality care, alongside safety and effectiveness. [1/2]
