Is there anywhere you can talk about House of the Dragon that isn't reddit? I enjoy the show & trying to talk about it on reddit means wading through people being like "why are they mean to this character I like??!!" Everything is fandom bullshit and it's impossible to talk about tv like an adult.

Poking my head up to say I'm not anywhere much but the new Madonna album is very good (I love a very specific Madonna - Bedtime stories, Ray of Light, CoaDF) & made me cry, to my great surprise. Fireworks did too. Been reading Walt Whitman & crying. Just a lot of summer crying.

John Wayne can be effective despite his limitations, like other limited & talented actors - Tom Cruise, Katherine Hepburn, etc. He plays rigid, brave, but also fearful men who bring about their own isolation, even if in the long run they "win" #thecriterionchannel
