Level 4 Autonomous Driving Is Going Great

Inspired by the amazing @web3isgoinggreat.com, this account will document carbrains infected by slopware. Urban traffic is a human conversation, not a computer protocol. Slopware Gonna Slop™ Insane in the car brain.

Why Waymos Keep Driving Into Floods
How does a multimillion-dollar robotaxi miss a flood a new driver would avoid? After several incidents and a recall of nearly 4,000 Waymos, we explain why it happens and how they plan to fix it

I want AVs to improve urban safety outcomes and mobility choices. But absence of basic data transparency and worsening public comms suggest Waymo hasn't learned from Dec 22 and July 4 debacles - and isn't ready to scale in cities. Read: thefrisc.com/waymo-behavi...
Waymo Behavior Now Harder to Decipher, Even After July 4th Fiasco
Mayor Lurie wants more scrutiny. Despite new California DMV rules, there’s less information publicly available, not more.

Ironic that Waymo got the exemption given that every single thing installed by Waymo is probably also made in China. How did those get imported? www.forbes.com/sites/alanoh... archive.is/vYEAZ
We are part of the world's largest company that claims to index all the world's knowledge. We hire the smartest people. Alphabet has $126B cash reserves. You, as impaired persons, are not worth our consideration for this world-changing technology we are developing. You are not in our changed world.
Advocates fear that autonomous vehicles will be allowed to operate in the District without accessibility requirements.
“We have not been able [to get mgmt to spend the money] to identify an electric vehicle platform that is fully wheelchair-accessible while also meeting the very unique specifications that we need to retrofit that vehicle with our technology,” Matthew Walsh, Waymo. Our tech needs > your human needs.
Advocates fear that autonomous vehicles will be allowed to operate in the District without accessibility requirements.
Your reminder that an inability to handle construction sites led to Waymo's self-imposed highway geofence, lifted 2 days ago. Seems like it's not solved on local roads. How soon until the geofence is back up?
"Waymo doesn't understand how to go through the construction zone" OP: tiktok.mai_mai1022, California The leading AI road safety solution forced everyone into a bikelane bc it can't reliably obey hand signs & signals, even under ~ideal and ~easily tested/sim conditions. Another DDT 'intended but'.
"why are you outraged about av's when you should be outraged about cars?"
99% of the time, when someone accuses you of selective outrage, it’s a way of politically demobilizing you and shutting you up “Why are you angry about data centers instead of fast fashion” isn’t about making you care about fast fashion. It’s about shutting you up about data centers And visa versa

Sat down to write about the Hugging Face/AI incident. Ended up drawing this instead.
Deceptive marketing of a Level 2 system
This is framed as a feel-good story, but it should scare the wits out of anybody on the road. Tesla's deceptive marketing is convincing seniors that the cars drive themselves. In reality, a human must always be ready to intervene. If someone lacks the ability to do that, they shouldn't be driving!
If the the Devil comes down to Georgia, maybe he'll get stuck in a roundabout
"a specialist (Waymo sr telop) may join in...We will be able to send a man to the car" Waymo CSR telop Another Waymo robot failed the #1 ADS requirement: to know when it needs human help/fallback. Waymo never fixed their looping bug, despite misreports they had. OP: tiktok.lostwithshann, Atlanta
This lack is visibility is one of the reasons Waymo killed KitKat.
Another Waymo robot drove w a damaged body part hanging: Northside Dr NW & Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA Their sensors have 360° horizontal field of view, not vertical. They can't see themselves or under or over or get out to check. don't need to watch to the end or past 1:10 OP: tiktok.walealiyu
This is the key to unraveling the logic behind the findings. They externalize safety to other road users through phantom braking. Thry geofence out problematic geography, like roundabouts they can't handle. They chronofence out problematic times of day. They stand down when it rains.
Awaiting a similar letter from the NHTSA about winter driving to all companies.
I have now read this letter several times. Who has this “Radar Saves Us” letter that Tesla apparently sent to NHTSA?!
I missed that NHTSA sent Tesla a 17 page letter about FSD and sun glare and this whole “photon counting” thing. Letter is dated July 2. static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2026...
I crash less often because I geofence, chronofence, and don't drive when it rains or snows, too.

Tesla Autopilot and FSD crashes hit record 207 in a single month
Tesla reported a record 207 Autopilot and FSD crashes to NHTSA in a single month — the most ever — even as it redacts nearly every crash narrative.

A person asks if someday self-driving cars will be mandated and human driving illegal. My response: We are generations away from this outcome, based on the progress so far. 22 years of the Waymo core team, almost 10 years as Waymo/Alphabet and the entire fleet has to stand down because of rain. /

A Waymo robot blew past an LAPD officer & lights: LA Convention Center, Pico at LA Live Stopped then went illegally, like Waymo robots did for a firetruck w sirens and a school bus w lights & extended control arm. NHTSA is gonna need a bigger investigation. CA DMV? OP: reddit.Inevitable_Ad_711
