For years, when I was drawing comics, readers just whined ENDLESSLY about "oh you drew the nose slightly bigger in this panel, i hope someone got fired for that blunder" but now a robot can't even form words and people are all "yeah, that's fine. in fact, it's good!"

I've long suspected that the right's disdain for erotica (and the arts in general) is that it's one of the few avenues still theoretically available to the plebs for class mobility

It was NEVER about restricting pornographic material, it was about bringing it under the control of corporations, and removing the ability of independent NSFW artists, who are often queer, to make any kind of a living so they starve to death

it's like sorry, you're going to jail for drawing a good picture of a naked person and posting it on the website that's entirely bad pictures of naked people, but also i'm not supposed to notice that the internet is all bad pictures of naked people now

Someone recently made the point that on the free clip sites "all the ads are for AI porn but none of the clips are AI." That's incredibly telling. It's also true on sites that aggregate porn comics. If a reddit site dedicated to drawn/animated porn fills up with AI, that's a sign it's unmoderated.

One thing that makes me feel insane is that the primary use of AI is to mass produce the pornography that they are trying to make it illegal for humans to make. But also, the AI isn't even good at it. None of it is hot!
