Just a girl who loves Warhammer (Fantasy and 40k), World of Darkness, and a bunch of other random stuff. Fanfic, art, book reviews, and a bunch of screaming about space elves. Find me on AO3 as CleverMird and Falling_Phoenix

"it's okay to make bad art as long as you had fun or learned something while making it" WRONG! It's okay for *other* people to make bad art. When I do it, I'm clearly embarrassing myself and insulting everyone else by daring to inflict my hubris upon them.

finished Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells after accidentally airing family dirty laundry, Sidda Walker is sent a scrapbook of memories featuring her mother and her mother's closest friends in an effort to reconnect. This one really pissed me off.

cover of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. The background is sky-blue with a subtle cloud print. The main image is a vintage color photo of one young woman vaulting over another as they both laugh. The text is white.

why do I have to bother with silly things like "plot" and "dialogue"? why can't I just beam my desired character development into the audience's brains like those education lights in Battlefield Earth?

finished Dexter is Dead (Dexter bk 8) by Jeff Lindsay after being blamed and imprisoned for a murder that he didn't commit (for once), Dexter teams up with an old friend for a final adventure. One of the better Dexter installments but still has all the major issues of the series 5/10

I've had to do this before and it sucks, but it was the right choice. I spent years trying to force myself to like a particular again because I didn't want to let That Person steal something I enjoyed, but I was so much happier once I let her go and focused on new things instead

It's ok to fall out of love with an OC due to negative circumstances surrounding them. Each time you see them a reminder of anxiety or the people you may have distanced yourself from. Take time. Rework them. Redesign them. Or perhaps move on. Don't feel bad if you have to do the last option.

trying to go back and read some of those "mass phenomenon" books that I didn't read when they were new, just for cultural awareness value. But I'm trying to come up with a good name for this specific genre that's less insulting than "books your mom's friend who doesn't read thinks are awesome"
