Mostly bad posting about bog-standard nerd shit; anime, manga, videogames etc. I cared once, it was awful.

There's something vaguely disgusting about how Marvel/Disney treat Spiderman because he's such a great and beloved character. You can basically do anything with him and make money but Marvel as a whole is just fucking trash and even Brand New Day kinda feels disrespectful to the character as a whole

Jump Time: Roku's House of Oddities- this is one of those rare times where I'd count editorial as a positive influence on a mangaka because while Agravity Boys was kind of directionless, Roku has a pretty solid emotional core that balances the comedy with some seriousness.

The thing that caused the biggest elite backlash were the relief checks IMO. The government just gave people money and basically everyone used it for the right things (food, housing, paying down debt), it made an instantaneous massive dent in childhood hunger, etc. Whoa, can't let that happen again!

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

There is something interesting about how right wing talking heads just completely cease to exist when they die. Shit, they stop existing when they get kicked off TV for the most part. Bill O'Reilly seemed like an absolutely unstoppable, unavoidable force of nature for years. Went poof when fired.
