I was inspired to do this vibe comp grid for my upcoming book, Dead New World! It's spooky, it's noirish, it's funny, it's Queer, it's romantic, it's got ghosts AND cyber kidnappings... I was really trying hard to bend every genre.

Everyone who works in visual mediums needs to rediscover old technicolor films and realize they don't just pulse with color and fashion and stylization, they also sometimes have plots that involve things like cursed marriages, champagne beds and Paul Newman exploding. (What A Way to Go!, 1964)

I am actually desperate for an Importance of Being Earnest adaptation where Jack and Gwendolyn are played by women and Algernon and Cecily are men (or visa-versa) without changing anything in the script. And Lady Bracknell is a nonbinary actor.

Gonna start porting over some #ShaderunnersReRead tweets from X! First: Easton shifts probably the most over the first act, from someone deliberately provoking into someone whose relationship with class is equal parts longing and resentment. His relationship with Ezra is a mirror of that.

I think this goes for all art, honestly. Also it's just fun to discover stuff and learn about its original context. (Also x 2, if animators discovered technicolor film they'd be unstoppable...)

i am all for people going & making their own things. it is hard, vulnerable work but also i think animation people in particular really just need to take a couple years where they read some classic books, watch some old movies, etc. so they're not all drawing from the same tiny well of influences

Starting a new qrp. I have...more appointments. My GI surgeon consult got moved to June 8th, I have a LOT of important doctor visits this month, still a few more bills, etc. Transportation per doctor visit is typically $65-80 depending on weather & location. Im sorry to ask for so much
