This is going to sound like the most obnoxious humble brag but today I found out from my doctor that I literally gave so much blood it made me anemic. Six months recovery 💪💪💪 Hope they savour that B+ brew like fine wine. Blood Canada you are my revenant.

I was inspired to do this vibe comp grid for my upcoming book, Dead New World! It's spooky, it's noirish, it's funny, it's Queer, it's romantic, it's got ghosts AND cyber kidnappings... I was really trying hard to bend every genre.

Dead New World. Nov 2026. Vibe Comp Grid.
The grids:
1) The cover of Murderbot, a cyborg looking at the viewer.
2) A screenshot from The Fabulous Baron Munchausen, where a ghostly figure gestures to a dinner party on the moon.
3) A screenshot from the terror, when a diver goes beneath the artic sea and is surrounded by eerie colors and floating ice.
4) A screenshot from Tron of a man in a holographic suit.
5) A blurb that reads Queer, Funny, Romantic, Ghostly, Cybernoir, Mystery.
6) A screenshot from Bladerunner 2049 of a giant holographic woman pointing.
7) A screenshot from Beetlejuice of a book that reads HANDBOOK FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED.

Everyone who works in visual mediums needs to rediscover old technicolor films and realize they don't just pulse with color and fashion and stylization, they also sometimes have plots that involve things like cursed marriages, champagne beds and Paul Newman exploding. (What A Way to Go!, 1964)

Poster for 1964's What a Way to Go!, featuring Shirley Maclaine in a glittering dress surrounded by several husbands in striped colors of red, yellow and grey.A man and woman embrace in a champagne glass bed.A woman in a yellow fur embraces her lover before a white car and blue background.A woman lounges by a pool on a lounger, everything except her is monochrome pink.

Happy Pride month! My book is very Queer and features demisexual librarians wooing reformed gangsters AND nonbinary musicians falling in love with emotionally repressed polar explorers. Also they're all technologically-resurrected ghosts.

if in 2026 we could kill the trope of "corsets are the ultimate symbols of patriarchal oppression" i'd really love that or at least, if you REALLY want to go for it, you should write an essay on why your 21st century underwear are superior soldiers in the gender war

I am actually desperate for an Importance of Being Earnest adaptation where Jack and Gwendolyn are played by women and Algernon and Cecily are men (or visa-versa) without changing anything in the script. And Lady Bracknell is a nonbinary actor.

Curious if there are any enemies to lovers books out there where they STAY enemies because they actually genuinely like being at-odds? Or do the romance genre rules imply the enmity is smoothed out?

Gonna start porting over some #ShaderunnersReRead tweets from X! First: Easton shifts probably the most over the first act, from someone deliberately provoking into someone whose relationship with class is equal parts longing and resentment. His relationship with Ezra is a mirror of that.

Starting a new qrp. I have...more appointments. My GI surgeon consult got moved to June 8th, I have a LOT of important doctor visits this month, still a few more bills, etc. Transportation per doctor visit is typically $65-80 depending on weather & location. Im sorry to ask for so much

My Reading List for May 2026 has absolutely no theme, I was truly reading like a little chrome ball in a pinball machine, flinging itself between chiming bumpers. (Summaries and links in alt text!)
