This project builds on our recent observations that pathogenic yeasts vary substantially in their in vitro susceptibility to external stress and aims to:
Characterize why this variation exists using comparative genomics and transcriptomics.
Identify strategies to sensitize pathogenic yeasts to host-like stress for antifungal therapy development.
Validate targets using genetic knockout or overexpression strategies.

What we’re looking for:
Curious and motivated student with a willingness to learn new things.
Experience in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, and/or genomics is an asset.
Strong research ethics and the ability to work respectfully as part of a diverse team.
