My career began in electronics & now it's in IT. I talk nonsense here about my hobby stuff: Electronics, STEM, IoT, Meshtastic, Vintage 8-bit computers. My dog is called Holly & she's much cuter than me | West Sussex, UK | Views are my own humble opinions.

Behold, Walkers have produced a crisp flavour "Inspired by Spanish Queso"...using Cheddar and Mozzarella* 🙃 Ciao, duck. *And all the other...stuff listed.

Tesco has the match night covered: * Get pissed on wine and lager * Hydration breaks! * Over indulge and puke everywhere. * Spend the next day clamped to the toilet, and washing your clothes. Enjoy!

I have acquired an AVO 8 Mk.4 meter - very generously gifted via Freecycle. Apparently it's not working. I'll check it over shortly and see what's what. The +ve probe tip is missing, as is one clip. The right case strap is inside so I'll have to brush up on my leather sewing. Lovely bit of kit.

Avo 8 meter, carry case, leads, manual and paperwork.

I love seeing and reading here about the stuff people get up to with vintage computing, electronics and STEM-related things. Other matters I'll keep in my news RSS feeds. To that effect, this filter list is very helpful.

Just heard from someone that they didn't get a job they interviewed for. Apparently one negative the company noted was that when they offered a drink of tea, coffee or water, he asked for water...and "people should always carry their own water". /smh

I am intrigued by the computer at the start of this clip. It looks like an AI has had a go at making a picture of a Commodore PET and got it wrong. The keyboard is missing a few keys and the disk drives would be an aftermarket add on, and then a separate monitor? Anyone recognise it?

Mrs Linker asked whether I ordered a pizza recently because there's a charge for Domino's on our credit card. Nope. Uh, oh...maybe a fraudulent charge...? Oh, wait, it says 'Domains' 😆

Did you know that scientists once conducted trials to see whether massive groups of small jumping insects could be synchronised to produce usable amounts of electricity? It was a fleas-ability study.

Woken up at 3am by a poorly Mrs L3K. Couldn't get back to sleep later so I tried the usual - logged on to do some server maintenance, installed patches and fixed a jail issue with fali2ban. I also downloaded and compiled the latest source for Remmina that supports interactive ssh logins with TOTP.

How odd. I've called HMRC a few times from my mobile phone and have posted here about it and nowhere else, and now the Reddit phone app's list of other subreddits in which I might be interested includes posts from r/HMRC. I checked and the app didn't have permission to read my contacts. Uncanny?!

BBC reporter interviewing a space scientist about the Artemis mission: "...then the crew will be at the Lunar observation window - what's that for?"

The person who was arrested after throwing powdered Jell-O and a jug of water over Donald Trump has subsequently been charged with trying to set a president.

My Sunday pm was interrupted by Node-RED deciding I had no dashboard pages - no controls or indicators, but the back-end was still working. After trying a few fixes, including restoring 2 backups, I decided this was my cue to migrate everything to Dashboard 2. And here we are..half past midnight! 😣
