Installing mirai from source just got simpler: no more CMake. As of nanonext 1.10.0 (mirai's communications layer), the whole stack now builds with just a C compiler. This means mirai installs anywhere R does, even on really ancient Linux boxes! mirai.r-lib.org #Rstats #Tidyverse #RShiny

We are pleased to announce that Mikael Jagan has joined the R Core Team. #RStats He has been an active contributor to the R project for several years, proposing bug fixes and enhancements. Further, he has been co-authoring/maintaining the important Matrix package and more recently lme4 and glmmTMB.

I got access to RStudio's AI enhanced beta, and oh my is it nice... Much number crunching to be had here, and way easier then copy/pasting between Claude Code/Codex and RStudio.

dplyr 1.2.0 is out now and we are SO excited! - `filter_out()` for dropping rows - `recode_values()`, `replace_values()`, and `replace_when()` that join `case_when()` as a complete family of recoding/replacing tools These are huge quality of life wins for #rstats! tidyverse.org/blog/2026/02...

dplyr 1.2.0

I'm excited to share a new version of the Air formatter for #rstats, with support for tabular formatting! Super useful with `tibble::tribble()` calls or `data.table::fcase()`. It's currently experimental as we're looking to get feedback on the feature, so please let us know what you think.

pkgload 1.4.1 is now on CRAN, with many fixes for the generation of `compile_commands.json`. If you write C/C++ code in your packages with Positron or VS Code (or any IDE with the clangd LSP), make sure to update. Thanks a lot to all contributors! #rstats
