When I could hide my disabilities, people accepted me. When I couldn’t hide them, they tolerated me. When I became vocal & demanded ableism be addressed, they abandoned me. This is why we need a Disability Pride month. This is why we need advocates. We shouldn’t have to hide.

I'm not saying she's necessarily the stupidest person of all time, but she's definitely the person with the biggest ever gap between how clever they think they are, and how stupid they actually are.

JKR: Trouble is, 'trans' isn't an adjective. 'Trans woman' is a compound noun meaning 'man who wants to be considered a woman.' If the individual being described isn't trans, he's simply a man, whereas a bespectacled woman remains a woman even if she's not wearing glasses.

Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2

The Ministry of Defence says the alliance aims to "reorientate academia towards Defence and National Security", strengthen links between universities and the defence sector, and translate research into "battlefield advantage". Campaigners say the move represents a significant shift in the role of higher education and has taken place without meaningful public debate. Among the founding members are the University of Oxford, University College London, King's College London, the University of Manchester, the University of Edinburgh, Cardiff University and Queen's University Belfast. "We are witnessing the formal incorporation of Britain's universities into the defence ecosystem," said Jinsella Kennaway, Founder and Executive Director of Demilitarise Education. Remember Streeting's review into whether young people are being overdiagnosed with ADHD, autism, and mental health issues? Well, the interim report is out, and there's a reason the media are silent on it (spoiler: it proves what a lot of us have been saying all along)

In others, notably ADHD and autism, rising diagnoses and referrals appear to exceed changes in underlying epidemiological prevalence and are likely to reflect a combination of: improved recognition changing help-seeking behaviour institutional incentives pressures within existing service pathways Across both ADHD and autism, best currently available population-based estimates remain relatively stable, while administrative diagnoses, self-identification and recorded service demand have increased substantially. In autism, the evidence also points to particularly rapid growth in identified need within educational systems, including increasing identification among girls and among young people without learning disability.These patterns suggest that rising demand is not simply the result of increasing prevalence, but of several processes operating simultaneously, including: real increases in distress in some groups improved recognition of previously unmet need changing expectations about support systems that frequently rely on formal diagnosis as the primary route to assistance Across the system, support is too often accessed through pathways that are slow, fragmented and heavily dependent on diagnostic categorisation. While diagnosis remains essential for some forms of clinical decision-making, the evidence suggests that current arrangements do not always provide the most effective or efficient way of identifying and responding to need. In particular, where access to support depends heavily on formal diagnosis, demand for diagnostic assessment can increase more rapidly than systems are able to respond, generating long waiting times, duplication of assessment and pressure on specialist services. The next phase of the review will therefore focus on clarifying the relationship between distress, diagnosis and need, and on examining how systems might respond more effectively to these patterns. A central objective will be to identify opportunities for developing more coherent, evidence-informed care pathways that enable support to be provided earlier and more proportionately, while ensuring that specialist services are available in a timely and appropriate manner for those whose needs are most complex.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

Sex Matters says gender-critical voices are being silenced. Yet when Amnesty International UK published research critical of them, they didn't publish a rebuttal; they threatened legal action. Freedom of expression isn't a one-way street. We have responded to Sex Matters' email:

For years, Sex Matters has portrayed itself as a victim of censorship. According to its public messaging, gender-critical voices are supposedly excluded from civil society, silenced by institutions, shut out of debate and denied freedom of expression. Every disagreement is framed as an existential attack on free speech. Yet the moment a major human rights ('non-anti-rights') organisation publishes research that is critical of them, their response is not to publish a rebuttal, commission alternative research, or engage with Amnesty's arguments. Instead, they boast that they were prepared to sue Amnesty International for defamation. The irony is difficult to ignore. This letter repeatedly invokes freedom of expression, dialogue and human rights. It speaks of "constructive dialogue", complains that Amnesty failed to engage with them, and insists that differing views should be respected. Yet the same letter proudly declares that had Amnesty not withdrawn its report, Sex Matters intended to drag one of the world's best-known human rights organisations into court. Apparently, freedom of expression is a universal principle right up until somebody expresses an opinion they don't like. This has become a familiar pattern. When gender-critical organisations are criticised, they frequently respond by claiming persecution. They argue that disagreement amounts to censorship, that criticism amounts to discrimination, and that being called out for their campaigning somehow infringes their human rights. But criticism is not censorship. Being challenged is not being silenced. And having your views scrutinised is not an attack on free speech. Freedom of expression cuts both ways. If Sex Matters believes it has the right to publish reports, lobby government, intervene in court cases, criticise public bodies and campaign against the rights of transgender people, then Amnesty International has the same right to analyse those activities and reach conclusions that Sex Matters dislikes[...]
