Having thought about it, the favicon brightness feature is actually sort-of useful because it indicates whether LisaGUI is asleep. (Whether it's actually discernible depends on the difference between your normal brightness setting and your dimmed brightness setting.)

Adjusted the styling of LisaGUI's mobile click cursor. Also, no one asked for it, but the brightness of the color palette of the favicon now matches the display.
Released a new LisaGUI build with a bug fix - open items were displayed on the desktop regardless of whether they were placed there. Also, the pointer icon has been updated to one that's a bit more authentic, based on one of the LisaGuide icons.
LisaGUI has touch controls; dragging one half of the screen moves the pointer; the other half presses the mouse button. I'm now using a second cursor instead of highlighting the entire mouse button div (it looked awful). This still needs more polish, but you can try it out in the latest build.

1/3 I added a new banner to LisaGUI's homepage. The power button brightens a bit on hover, and fully turns on when the banner is clicked. In the future I really ought to take a photo with better lighting on the front, but this should be fine for now. #css #apple #webdesign #appleLisa
1/2 A new build of LisaGUI is now out with many little bug fixes and some improvements, including: - I should have done this ages ago, but… the Desk menu now also lists all open windows, even if their icons haven't yet been "set aside" onto the desk. Obviously, this is an important convenience!

Minesweeper on Apple Lisa! That’s pretty cool, just because Lisa had practically zero third-party sofware, and I think absolutely zero games. youtu.be/0SnadQGIZtI?...
Throwback to the Figma user who said “I will give you a million dollars if you build X” (I forgot what it was. Links?) and then he actually sent us a million dollars… sort of.
Pushing a new LisaGUI build with a ton of bug-fixes and a new rendering algorithm which can be turned on in the developer settings.
I really hate using block cursors in a CLI. It's unintuitive. I grew up when text insertion was taken for granted. Does anyone still use overtype mode for anything? It's needlessly dangerous; normal typing should create information *without* destroying it. We already have specific keys for that!
A new build is out now with some internal bug fixes and a small optimization to the renderer.
Fixed a bug in the mobile trackpad code that caused issues while dragging.
I ended up restarting the app and now things are back to normal, so it's ok, false alarm, the sky is no longer falling
why the hell is apple notes doing this weird thing where it autofills the word I'm typing while I'm only halfway done typing it? it's the most unsatisfying thing I've ever seen. it's breaking the flow of my typing and is making me want to hurl my laptop out of the window at a hundred miles an hour
Someone pointed out once that humans are the only creature on earth that pays for a home and water and food. And it's stuck in me like an arrowhead ever since.
Finally added a dark theme to the downloads page. As it's themed to look like a 1-bit version of the classic Mac OS, this was mostly just inverting the page with a filter. It's not inauthentic; there *were* Mac apps in the 80s that would invert your display. yaros.ae/downloads #mac #css

#Apple's magic mouse's form factor has been in use since 2009. I kept waiting for them to release a revised version with better ergonomics, and they never did. Can you imagine if they had kept the hockey puck mouse around until at least 2015? That's what this feels like.
Made some more tweaks to the toolbar specular highlights and the header and footer formatting. It looks better now, trust me, or visit the site. Don't make me take more screenshots, it's been a long day!
I unified the toolbar buttons on my homepage (at larger widths). It looks so much better now. #css #aqua #frutigerAero yaros.ae
