"Russia's invasion becomes a 'war in Ukraine.' Moscow's neo-imperial bid for a sphere of influence, where neighbors are to be murdered until they give up sovereignty, becomes "security interests." Ukraine's refusal to be massacred morphs into an obstacle to peace," writes Andrew Chakhoyan.

When righteous calls to end the war become warmongering

Russia's war on Ukraine has yet to end because Russia keeps waging it. It is shocking, though regrettably unsurprising, that in the fifth summer since the 2022 escalation by the aggressor, and 12 yea...

VOLKER: Calling "special military operation" a war, as Peskov did, could mean Kremlin setting conditions to reframe this as Western war against Russia, in which they're defending Russian homeland. Then, if they get West to agree to stop, it can be portrayed as victory for Putin.

🙏🇺🇦 Five districts of the capital were hit by ballistic missiles, fires everywhere. In one of the districts, people were trapped in shelters. Also, a missile hitting an underpass damaged the lobby of the Lukyanivska metro station, so it is currently closed.

APPLEBAUM: The front line in Ukraine is barely moving. Russians are suffering from gasoline shortages. Crimea is very close to being cut off. These are concrete Ukraine’s successes that everyone can see. Putin’s last weapon is ballistic missiles. Ukraine needs more air defenses.

🤨 Bulgaria is leaving the "Coalition of the Willing" supporting Ukraine. Bulgarian PM Rumen Radev, who advocates for "pragmatic" ties with Moscow, stated that Bulgaria opposes further military aid to Kyiv.
