This study of four cohorts of French schoolchildren shows that the gender gap in math (girls falling behind) begins essentially immediately as soon as kids start school. They use the natural variation in kids' ages at school start to show that it's school entry, not age, that triggers the change.

Students are told men have better spatial ability than women because men had to travel further to forage (women don't), find many mates (women only want one), and wage war against other men 😬

Gillian Branstetter@gbbranstetter.bsky.social · 12mo agoCiting a Trump executive order banning "gender ideology," the VA is withholding coverage and treatment for male veterans with breast cancer, an increasing condition among veterans exposed to toxic chemicals during service. 100 male veterans a year are diagnosed with breast cancer.
