"Men get jittery when they face the half-century mark," declared Nathalie Sedgwick Colby, who divorced her husband — Woodrow Wilson's Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby — and launched a career as a novelist at the age of 45.

My thoughts as a Canadian about Trump's most recent statement about Canada: oh whatever who cares have a nice life and ignore him he's just going to say whatever whenever and having any feelings about it will do nothing and having no feelings about it will also do nothing but you'll be happier

I am intrigued how some people feel compelled to post things like "this person who died was terrible to me on both a personal and policy level, but once they didn't run me down with their car, so I'll always think of them that way. My condolences to their family, who they also hated."

I wish Calgary would embrace other themed costume weeks like it does Stampede. There should be a week where we dress up like magicians. Another where everyone is now a zebra. It would be good.

One reason I'm reasonably cheerful despite everything is that I'm pre-disappointed in everything and occasionally something isn't disappointing which feels like a ✨thrill✨
