I'm headed to a World of Warcraft music symphony orchestra concert in the Dallas area later tonight. Looks like it should be a fun time. I always love video game music concerts!

NASA Scientific Visualization Studio | August 27-28, 2026 Deep Partial Lunar Eclipse

On August 28, 2026 (the evening of the 27th in some time zones), the Moon passes into the shadow of Earth, creating a deep partial lunar eclipse. At the moment of greatest eclipse, 4:13 a.m. Univeral Time, 96.3% of the Moon's disk will be within Earth's umbra. The Americas are centrally located for observing this eclipse.

At first, Epic removed the sound visualizer wheel for competitive Fortnite games only. Now, it's nerfed in all play, and disabled gamers are missing what was hailed as one of the best accommodations for players with physical and cognitive disabilities. Story from @supercrip1994.bsky.social here:

games can be small, but a game launch never is. they fill all available time and brainspace, absorbing effort continuously for weeks or months before they occur. minimum size is medium, maximum is unknown.

Today I got to volunteer to move library books from one shelf to another shelf at a school. It was actually really great to give back to my community, since I don't have much else going on right now. The little things like this are so important.
