Real talk though-- seeing the excitement and love for *Magic* characters and worlds shown on the cards? Unmatched. The energy I see on my feed for in-universe Magic IP is unmatched compared to another UB preview season.

Very cool deep cut from the Beadle and Grimm's Phyrexian language guide! 5c Phyrexians is a wacky concept for sure, and menace and lifelink are solid stats to give your whole board. I do wish it was more exciting than raw stats, and I'm not sold on only his creatures being drawn from any color.

Lighting isn't great, but I got plenty of signed swag from MagicCon! Feat. the beautiful Chrome Prowler artist proof and sketch I got from Maxime Minard at a discount because I looked like "a big Phyrexian fan." You have NO idea how much I needed this creature in my life-

That's a wrap on #MCAmsterdam, my first European MagicCon! I stayed quiet online during the con itself because I wanted it to be for myself and my friends, but I can say it was an incredible experience where I met awesome people. I'm so grateful for this welcome to the European Magic community :)

in case you were wondering how innocuously worse everything can get, Balatro has basically been slowly turned into an indie game advertising vehicle, now culminating in it being a AAA game advertising vehicle. Just horrible man.

EoE is genuinely a magical set that has cemented itself as my favorite. I really think they hit it out of the ballpark on all aspects! (Plus as a big fan of sci-fi art, they did an amazing job delving into the breadth of illustration styles of the genre, all while keeping it within a "magic" feel.)

One year on I'm still thinking about how Edge of Eternities represented a level of peak in Magic story, art, and mechanical design that I continually yearn to see again
