I love when creatures evolve to have weird body conformations that I never intended. These heads grew out of the "nostril" locations on the creature's main head. All the other animals around are relatives; can you see the resemblance?

Because I still have a very simple model of energy in the simulation (e.g. leaves absorb light to make energy; trees and creatures require similar amounts of energy to live), most of my runs end with animals that have evolved to be covered in leaves. This doesn't feel accurate, but it is pretty cute

My brother Nate has been doing the music for Cookie Gardening for a while, and this piece (which plays at sunset in the first garden) is one of my favorites (sound on!)
