Can someone explain the 60,000 votes for Mallory McMorrow? Didn’t she drop out before the voting started? That seems like a huge number of people to not realize, but also a really large “neither” contingent.

I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.
