Plant ecophysiologist, global/climate change & plants, lover of pop culture, nerd for cats, will ask for donuts. she/her/hers

Friends, I am quite suddenly and with no warning teaching an upper level ecology class in three weeks. If anyone has any ecology lab materials they are willing to share with me, please reach out.

I’ve started wearing a hat at work most days because I like hats. Particularly backwards baseball hats. The students have no opinion on this but man are my co-workers in other colleges and department confused by this. You can be an academic and not wear a blazer. It’s ok friends.

🚨 1 Week Left to Apply! 🚨 The Krieg Lab is hiring a Research Professional in Plant Ecophysiology & Evolution. 📅 Deadline: October 1, 2025 📧 Sending materials (Cover Letter, CV, References) to: kriegc[at]wfu.edu

For me, the real humbling bit of this was: you HAVE to keep a regularly updated list of every student who goes on a lab field trip or spends a semester cleaning glassware, otherwise you absolutely will not be able to remember them all at Tenure Time

Hey! New faculty! Your annual reminder to keep track of *everything* you do in some way or another. I just dump stuff into a Google doc, nothing fancy, but saves a ton of time when working on promotion & tenure docs. (Ask me what I'm working on right now...!) 🧪
