Partially collapsed wall of the 100-year-old Bliss Building in downtown Albuquerque. It was home to Lindy’s Diner, one of my favorite spots. Shortly after I did this sketch the whole building was demolished. Right now it’s just an empty lot with a chain link fence and a lot of legal drama around it.

Ink sketch of NDI on Rt66 in Albuquerque. I had to look it up to learn that it’s National Dance Institute, not an “indy” film studio. Current resident of the old Highland Theater, with the big 66 sculpture in front.

Urban Sketchers of Albuquerque & Santa Fe met on the UNM campus for the February get-together. The rest of the group was smart and sketched inside the warm anthropology museum. I was in love with the colors and shadow shapes of the building next door, so I did this instead.

Greetings to the folks who have found me from the GenJones group over on FB. I have just been using this platform for art stuff. If you’re an artist I would love to see your work! What are you experimenting with?

I’ve been seeing the idea over on Threads of posting what you’re interested in to help the algorithm help find people for you to follow. Let’s see if it works on BlueSky. Artist Sketching Watercolor Pen & Ink Photography Graphic design Photoshop Illustrator
