I’m not a fan of what Musk/Trump is doing, but the TSA is security theater, and it would be fine with me to see it go. Securing cabins on planes made us more secure. Taking off our shoes does nothing (as is evidenced by the fact that you can simply pay to keep them on).

The TSA is part of the US Dept of Homeland Security How does abolishing TSA make us safer? This is absolute lunacy from a US Senator
I don’t think this is entirely fair. This traces back to Clinton’s Democratic Leadership Council. Dems have forgotten how to have independent positions on foreign & fiscal policy, focusing on nuance & social issues. This was effective when the GOP was sane, but we don’t know how to lead anymore.
