Intellectual diversity does not mean we have to entertain bad faith arguments. Some things should not have both sides. The Supreme Court should just repost the decision of the U.S. v. Wong Ark Kim, and uphold the birthright citizenship that’s enshrined in the constitution.

The fact that the assault on birthright citizenship has gotten this far, despite the plain text of the constitution, is astonishing. It also reveals some flawed assumptions about intellectual diversity, which sometimes involves resuscitating a dead and discredited idea b/c powerful people want to.

Important 🧵 Minority party cannot magically fix what the majority party breaks. We have to give the democratic elected officials tools, i.e. obtain majority at midterm, if we want to restore checks and balances, and hopefully get out of the current existential crisis caused by the republicans.
