Splinter & Ash was such a phenomenal middle grade book 🥹 Friendship, loyalty, courage, bravery, LOTS OF DISABILITY AND QUEER REP, tradition vs cultural change, forgiveness...too much to name is a couple hundred characters. I can't suggest this book enough 💜 #booksky #middlegrade

the massacre at el mozote was probably the hardest book ive read in years. the blatant denial by the US government, who largely funded and trained the soldiers who perpetrated the massacre, under Reagan and then the release of thousands of documents by Clinton...the US has always been a shame.

im sorry, but working in a homeless shelter for transitional age youth, I cannot see where Karen Bass has done the work to manage this housing crisis. some of them it takes them their entire transitional living program term (18-24 months!) to get permanent supportive housing. thats fucking absurd.
