'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

AI and Liability - Schneier on Security

Going through old files and I found some early research I did (2014?) when I was brainstorming what I wanted Rocketjump Film School to be like (or in this case, NOT like). I noticed a... pervasive trend at the time and started taking screenshots lol

A collage of 12 different screenshots from filmmaking and photography tutorials on Youtube. 11 of the screenshots are of a male filmmaker or creator talking to the camera with a woman (often scantily clothed) sitting passively as a subject. A 12th screenshot shows a kidnapped woman with a gag over her mouth and text describing shutter angle and frames per second.

Bigger names in production work commercials all the time when not shooting features; the huge budgets on these things would shock most folks. But *actors* moving to commercials just feels like another sign the industry isn't doing so great. Commercials are one of the few consistent gigs rn

Appearing in a commercial used to be the death knell for an actor's career. Orson Welles hawked wine almost 50 years ago and we still make fun of him for it. Now if you're an A-list star you basically agree to star in an annoying ad that runs 24/7.

Me: Ugh I was a fan of Max Reebo before he was popular. He revolutionized the sound but how much money can you take from signing with the Hutts before it's considered selling out, feel me Me: So do you like jizz Me: I just hit that jizz cabbage Anthony, checking his texts 7hrs later: Oh my god

Me: "So it's Keke Palmer and what's his name... the name of the guy who hosts Hot Ones" Anthony: "John Hot Ones" Me: "..... yeah so we all want them to fall in love. Mr. and Mrs. Hot Ones"

With chronic illness you gotta take joy in the little things, like making a game of how many pills you can swallow in one go before you make that OUUWEHHCKKKGH sound that dogs make over clean carpet

Sometimes Trek is discussing philosophy and human nature Sometimes it's fan bros talking about ship specs and arguing who is the best captain And mostly it's something like my friend asking about Klingon/human compatibility and me getting to explain the two penises lore
