Starry-eyed romance writer / cynical tech worker

I've been ghosted in my tech job search in a new & terrible way TWICE this month: i apply, they write back and ask for times i can meet, i reply and... nothing. Fresh hell, indeed.

I think the fact that you 1) have and 2) want me to read a 39-slide deck about your company culture before I apply for a product job tells me all I need to know about your company culture.

Today's job postings include positions at slop factories, conservative donor platforms, gambling and astrology startups. Oh and crypto. Is it me or is it getting harder to work in tech without being one of the bad guys?

the best way to motivate yourself to write your book is to log in to find a new product management job and see news about more people getting laid off to compete with you for the 3 jobs that are out there.

This is what tech job postings are like in 2026. You get to be a staff-level product manager and a staff-level engineer, all for salary of one of those positions. What a bargain.

Staff-level product judgment: framing an ambiguous problem, defining success, setting scope and deciding what not to build.
Staff-level engineering depth: system design across user interfaces, APIs and relational data, with sound tradeoffs between speed, reliability and long-term maintainability.

all i want is for you to read my books, love them, and then tell your one million friends about them so i don't have to pretend i'm excited about building AI features no one asked for.

Do my books count as romantasy if they're set in tech startups populated with men who listen to and respect women? I feel like that checks boxes for 1) worldbuilding and 2) mythical creatures.
