just met this charming creature on my walk. also a long eared owl (not sure about its age) it's been a difficult year for me and owlets though, the last weeks i kept hearing them in the park (fewer than the last 2 years) but haven't seen them and the last days i didn't even hear them
Today I celebrate an event that happened 250 years ago…. Pallas cats were first documented by German naturalist Peter Pallas in 1776. These little guys live in the Himalayas and survived the ice age! I’m not sure though if fireworks are an appropriate way to celebrate this event….

In order to get these shots I had to stand very still in the vicinity of an old man who kept asking if I had a husband, so you guys better enjoy them
bumped into the wildlife czar again this evening leading a group of 10-15 people with binoculars. i asked him if there are already new long-eared owlets and he was positive. i have not seen or heard them yet but i'll keep you updated
b****t******@longearedowls.bsky.social · 7mo agoyou really have to come here some day, i have long eared owls year round 5 minutes from my apartment, but especially in spring and early summer there are so many owlets. i saw a guy i knew from youtube clips (he's the official wildlife czar of berlin) giving a guided owl-tour here. a great joy
