Some days I have this problem where I feel like I can't get anything meaningful done until I've completed something arbitrary, for example, today I want to shave my beard. It's bothering me. I must go immediately and take of this above all else.

Eyes are burning, so very tired. Need snacks. And tea. Then it's time to pick up the notebook and start writing. How are you doing today?
Drunk people on my doorstep kept me up half the night. Now I’m just waiting for morning

Very limited work time this summer. My boy is on Summer Break from school. I'm working on pitches, stories, ideas, covers, art. I feel happy with the work, but totally overwhelmed by everything else.
Gosh, it all seems very bleak at the moment, doesn't it?! Aren't we due some kind of tiny morsel of hope at some point? Something to take away the relentless feeling of doom? Please?
For context: We did once attempt to break the world record for preforming a music show in all of the 50 US states in the fastest amount of time, and then I illustrated a 300 page graphic novel about it in less than a year. So yeah, I wouldn’t say “smart choices” are our norm.

Well. Think I got my digital coloring separations process down now and the brushes I plan on using finally figured out. 😄💖
I often complain to my MP, my Councillor, and my Mayor. They all reply but none of them care, not really. A rule for thee and not for me. Oh well, we're all cooking anyway, and not in a good way.
Oh gosh, life is a lot sometimes, isn't it? Not just the bad stuff, but the good too. Sometimes I feel like my heart is swelling so much it's going to explode.
I spent some time setting up Retroarch today. This is mild relief.
I am so painfully sad today, but I'm going to try to channel in by making some art, somehow. I'm not sure I have time, but I need to do something.
Apparently Playstation are ending production of physical discs in 2028. This is such a fail. Anti-consumer greed. There will be backlash, and a rise in every alternative, including piracy. Respect your customers or you will lose them. Just my two cents
We’re getting harassed by a neighbour, it’s one of the most horrible experiences I think I’ve ever had. We’re scared to go out, scared to use our garden, scared to answer the door. Today we were shaking and crying. It’s ruining our lives
I once owned a New 3DS XL, and traded it in for some PS4 games. Big regret, I miss it and would like to play Mario 3D Land again.
Another thing I’m really good at is; taking deep dives about things I really don’t need to know about, things where the information does not stay in my brain.
If 35 people back at the $1 level we would more than double BF's monthly income from backers which is WILD considering how big a role it plays in UK #comics coverage. It's a good time to support, especially considering their new stance on AI. www.patreon.com/c/brokenfron...

This week the full reality of what we’re now up against because we took a principled stand against generative AI at BF became very apparent. I have to hope that for every door now being slammed shut on us because of that stance there’s another one opening. Your support is so appreciated right now!
I am so good at buying the wrong thing. Things that almost, but don't quite fit. But low value enough to not get a refund. Ugh, so dissapointed in myself.
Today I am stuck in a loop. I can’t achieve anything. I can’t finish anything. I’m spiralling around nothing. Ugh
I have a new story out in this anthology, published today. It’s about bins. And death. But largely bins. I am a parody of myself.
Our horror anthology, OF DREAD, DECAY, AND DOOM, is now available! Of Dread, Decay, and Doom is a horror-themed anthology edited by @jendiagammon, Gareth L. Powell, and Scarlett R. Algee, featuring masters of horror fiction from all over the world. #books #horror #horrorbooks
over the past few years I've tried to upgrade bits of my work setup, only to realize none of it was actually better, just different, and in some ways, worse. So i'm rolling things back a bit. I guess we need to be open to change, but also recognize what works well for us.
Hello again friends, one more here - I'm so excited to announce the Brasilian & Portuguese translation of HARU is coming soon from Editora Planeta do Brasil! Once again, I'm so overwhelmed and appreciative of kind hearted folks who care about my little birds' story. @planetadelibros.bsky.social
A news post, for those who are curious. I've seen so many people dissapear from social media over the years. I miss my friends. It's strange how sometimes it can be like we were never here at all. open.substack.com/pub/jlatham/...
