The highly photographed #AshnessBridge, near Keswick, is an iconic 18th century stone packhorse bridge, with views over Skiddaw mountain. Very little flowing water sadly when I was there a few weeks ago, but still a pretty scene. #Scape #landscape #photography #LakeDistrict

In the immediate foreground stands a fresh, green clump of ferns, alongside a shallow, flowing stream running over rocks and stones towards the old, arched, stone bridge. Alongside and beyond the bridge lie bushes and trees, cascading down the hillside. These form a frame for the distant mountain view of the Skiddaw range in the distance. A deciduous woodland scene of bright green leaves and mosses and ferns. I recently put together an audio visual of my images taken when I lived in North Devon, for the camera club. Realised I missed the spring greens of beech trees on #Exmoor. Must return. Spring's not really arrived in Scotland yet! #Scape #Photography #Landscape

The centre foreground is dominated by dark streaks in striking, flowing patterns made by soil deposited on a white sand beach at low tide. They stretch into the mid-distance to a small group of low, flat rocks. The top third of the image reveals a calm, blue-grey sky, featuring the rounded hill of the island of Taransay, and the distant Harris mountains in dull light. Both are reflected in the remaining flat calm water from the river that flows to the sea separating the beaches of Luskentyre.
