Our team member, 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀, attended the conference Quitel 2026 in Coimbra, Portugal, last week! Sergio presented our work on CAVER, CaverDock, and Caver Web in an invited plenary lecture and an oral presentation, highlighting their applications in protein tunnel analysis and ligand transport.

Our new paper, “Taurine inhibits apolipoprotein E4 aggregation,” has been accepted in Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy. 🎉📄 We show that taurine reduces ApoE4 aggregation and shifts it toward a less harmful ApoE3-like profile, opening new perspectives for neurodegenerative disease therapies. 🧠🔬

Our senior researcher Sérgio Marques will give a talk focused on fast computational analysis of protein tunnels at the 49th International Congress of Theoretical Chemists of Latin Expression (𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲). The congress will take place in Coimbra, Portugal, from 5–10 July 2026. 🌍🧪
