I was going through my laptop, cleaning up some files and came across this. I wrote it just a few days after the presidential inauguration 2025. Eighteen months ago... seems like forever and a day.
Or, a writer who told themselves they'd never make any money writing so they pushed it off until they got halfway through adulthood and changed the voice in their head.

If it was me, in my defense: when I imported everything from Substack to my Wordpress website it stripped much of the formatting. Now, it's all CAPS, no italics, no paragraph indents... it's a mess and I don't have time yet to clean it all up. And, I still need to learn how to use the Wordpress. ugh

My preference is " for speech, italics for thoughts (though ' is also ok). Please, if you're a writer, please differentiate thoughts from speech in an easy to read way.
